Case Study 0701 TB 2000: Oil Skimmer Solutions
Skimmer Solutions Situation: Our customer was assembling a motor into a fabricated mounting plate, then adding a fabricated housing, power cord, grommet, and seals. We eliminated the need for fabricated components and supplied a complete TB 2001 with black powder coating, power cord, and seal for direct drive. This also eliminated several inventory components. A true “from the box to line” assembly solution.

Multi Products has a variety of gearmotor and case combinations available to meet most every sub-fractional gearmotor need. Your selection of a custom motor begins with simple questions:
- What voltage will the motor operate? Do you prefer wall power (AC) or battery power (DC)?
- What speed is required to meet the application needs?
- What torque is required for the application?
- What duty cycle will the gearmotor operate? 100% continuous duty or intermittent duty.
- What direction of rotation for the output shaft?
Further detailed questions help optimize the design. These questions include:
- What type of output shaft is required in the application?
- Are there any dimensional or size constraints?
- What is the ambient temperature surrounding the gearmotor when in operation?
- Will the gearmotor be subjected to any radial or axial loading?
- Is the load constant or variable?
